The Life/Time Schools Outreach Project has been piloted throughout 2008-09 and has received excellent feedback from all the schools who have participated in it.
The project is led by the Scottish Prison Service and is supported by a range of organisations including the Fire Brigade, Police, Procurator Fiscal, Families Outside and Lothian and Borders CJA.
A formal launch was held on Thursday 25th March at Gracemount High School to recognise the excellent work of the project. Mr Kenny MacAskill, Cabinet Secretary for Justice joined the school children who were participating on the day along with the range of partner organisations and their guests to formally launch the project.
Mr MacAskill presented Gracemount Head Teacher, Ms Pauline Walker with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
Life/Time will continue to deliver their innovative schools outreach project to eight schools across Lothian & Borders in 2010-2011.
